Back on home soil… Thanks again Europe!

With everyone having now returned safely back to Australia, a massive thanks goes out to our good friends The Queen’s Head, and to those that provided the tonnes of love, help, and support that got us through the last 5 weeks. See you in 2012!

May 2011, destination Australia
Antarctica finally squeezed in a couple of Australian shows, with a great night at Yah Yah’s in Collinwood, Melbourne, followed by a fundraiser for the forthcoming European tour at the world famous La Mama Theatre in Carlton. A big thank you to everyone who came along in support!

2010
Nintendo Rock fanatics Antarctica formed in the Australian summer of 2010. Just six months later, with a full length album under their belt, they embarked on a successful European tour which culminated with a headline spot at Schilling Festival. Relatively unknown in Australia, Antarctica had time for only one outing on home soil before departing for a debut run of shows that took in 8 countries, 3 strippers, and 1 river.

Antarctica is led by singer Nedd Jones & Peter Spark (Wellyn), Joel Griffith (Subaudible Hum) & Warwick Dunn (Clinkerfield)

After receiving an Australian Single of the Year nod from Beat and finding themselves featured on MTV right across the USA & UK, Wellyn called it a day as Nedd concentrated on amassing almost 100 international shows as a member of The Night Terrors, enjoying extended time on the road with Black Mountain, Melt Banana, Heirs & Serena Maneesh.
